Hammer and Sear Cad models
Does anyone have a good CAD model or a DXF/DWG of 1911 hammers and sears? I've got access to a wire EDM and want to play with a few things for fun...

I work with Cad every day. What your asking for is really on the web for how a 1911 works.
Cad is a very expensive program and then you need to add the 3D software to be able to model what you want.
My apologies if you are in the design world and have access to these programs.
If so the best I can offer is to create your own parts and assemble from there.
Also a DXF will not be what you want. A DWG is the correct file to request.

Well, I am an engineer and have cad software. Yes there are models out there but was hoping for one from someone that has actually cut/made them. And yes dxf is a file type that would work for my machine.Texasref wrote:I work with Cad every day. What your asking for is really on the web for how a 1911 works.

Check-out https://www.m1911.org/M1911-A1_REDUX.pdf, it has all the parts of the 1911. Simply scroll down until the item is found.(might take a while for all drawing to load) I used it to have 5 hammers wired with some minor changes to half-cock. Also hammer hook, pin holes and safety half-round was omitted to be machine in later. Been so busy they still sit here waiting for me to complete them.

Take a look on GrabCAD. They have different models people have created that you can download.

Went to GrabCad, how do I find 1911 drawings? I get a lot of info from Redux site I posted but more is always helpful

I typed Colt 1911 in the search.

I clicked on the link, got the site but when I clicked on download all files it took quite a bit of time then I got nothing. To I have to subscribe?
The site I posted has all the components and each drawing can be zoomed and each drawing has a 3d view.
But more is better so I'm interested in GrabCad

I think you have to sign up for an account. Good news is that I did, and do not get spam.
