My Three Bullseye Guns
Here are my three. I just shot my first 2700 a couple of weeks ago and the 45 will take a bit of getting used to but the 22 and 32 are real easy shooters. The best part of the 45 is that it makes my Hammerli seem like a toy so it's much easier to shoot.
My 22 is a Hammerli 208 with a Matchdot and Rink grips.
My 32 is a Walther GSP and while I've heard lots of negative stuff about it at 50yds mine seems fine and groups just under 2" from a rest. It's probably the easiest one to shoot at 25yds. It has a Bushnell Trophy dot and it also has Rink grips.
My 1911 is the first 45 I've owned or shot. It was built by Roddy Toyota and is a really fun gun to shoot. It groups 1 1/4" at 50 but I don't. Not yet anyway. It also has Rink grips as I like the consistency across the guns as far as the feel in my hand.

Armouredbear,
That's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Beautiful weapons... timeless and classic! Without doubt they can hold their own in any competition.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
thanks! next time i'm in the same town as it, i'll send a picture of my grandfather's 14-2 SAO that he made master with. i doubt i'll ever shoot as well as he did (he used to shoot skeet from the hip - successfully even), but it gives me something to aim for!
and yeah, i like my guns blue and made of metal and wood (which reminds me i need to get some actual wooden grips for my HS...)

Some very nice and expensive guns. Mine are cheap, with cheap red dots but, I enjoy it. I bought them to get started but, have plans to improve my equipment.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
Finally figured out how to post pics!
The High Standard was bought from a friend just a couple months before he passed away and has a Tasco Pro Point. I shot an 842 with it a few weeks ago at an indoor match.
The Springfield RO was bought from Joe Fobes. Shot a personal best 813 with it when it had iron sights. I installed the frame mount and the Aimpoint Micro this week.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
I was posting in the Trailboss thread and figured I'd introduce my new lead slinger too.
Story is that it's a 1913 manufacture, set up for BE in the 50s, shot in the 60s, and has been sitting since. Snug Micro bushing, trigger serrated and O/T screw added, front strap checkered a little, MSH checkered, neither very professional looking. Hammer looks like it was a wide spur and someone hacked the "wide" off of it. Top of slide is matte beadblasted. PO removed the Elliason Rollo sight (Anyone have one they might part with?) and had an 18# recoil spring and a shok-buff in it and was apparently shooting off the shelf ball ammo. The barrel hood had been welded and refitted, but a bit roughly, it's a bit rounded on the back, and I think the 18# spring was a bit much, and so the hood has battered the breechface some. Guide rod has a snub and spring in it ala Sprinco recoil reducer. Trigger break is clean, feels like about 3.5#. It had a small radius firing pin stop, not sure if that was original or not. It has been reblued, has a definite blue color, though it looks black in these pictures. Someone got a bit overzealous with the buffing wheel on the flats, but it's not too shabby.
I intend to play at bullseye with it, shooting light target loads, and will probably end up making some corrections and improvements.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
Question for those of you with 1911 slide mounted scopes: how does this effect the funtioning of the pistol? It seems like a lot of additional mass to move. Is a frame mounted optic considered any better or worse?
Thanks,
JS

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
jscandale,
This topic has some other threads in the equipment sub forum. I will sum it up for you. The additional mass needs to be moved, and when you figure out what custom load you will be shooting, you need to install the correct recoil spring that works with that load. I'm partial to slide mount for a number of reasons, but this thread isn't an appropriate place for this discussion.
If you can't find those other threads, make a new post in the equipment discussion. That's how we keep things organized!

My Ruger Mark III 22/45 Lite with a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight.
With the exception of the Sam Lam bushing, this is stock gun that consistently shoots 1-1/2" groups at 25 yards from the bench.

Re: Show Me Your Bullseye Pistols
My Smith and Wesson M41; my favorite target pistol and what I use in our “iron sights” league. Once the feed ramp was slightly polished and a lower rated recoil spring installed; it has never had a gun caused stoppage. Dead accurate at fifty yards….
