First topic message reminder :

Now that we can share our photos, let's see your bullseye guns.

Here is my Keefer Custom, Aimpoint dot scope, with one of my better very best targets.

Rebuilt the .22 conversion. Played around with my different frames and fire control groups, and I got the best trigger using a combination of C&S parts with one of KC’s sears in a RIA frame, of all things.  Put on a set of grips from Precision Target Pistol Grips and shot an indoor PR.

Also got into 10m Air Pistol recently, having picked up a rebuilt Steyr LP1P.  I have a home practice setup with a pellet trap.  The indoor bullseye league hosts an AP match every month.  Challenging sport. Much harder than bullseye.

Check out this badboy: Accuracy X with rebarrel/bull conversion by Jon Eulette.

Here's the specs:
KKM threaded barrel
Deep River Customs tungsten cone
EGW tungsten guide rod
Sharkskins grips
Jon Shue aimpoint shades
Photoescape rear aperture
Aluminum bronze (Frank S.) trigger shoe
CMM grip panel on right side.

This thing is heavy, 3lbs 3oz unloaded. Feels like a gold brick.

The finish on that is beautiful! I tried to order one last year with it and was super disappointed to learn that they don’t offer that high polish option anymore.

Very nice piece!

Latest edition to the arms race is my old blue printed RIA Target frame with much trigger work now sporting a Nelson .22 conversion. I had a hard time believing how accurate this is when I was sighting it in but it still is as I'm starting to get used to it.

That is a Browning Buckmark 5.5 Gold target from 1993, that I bought used around 2002 or so. It continues to serve me well, although this year I did have to replace some worn parts.

Gen 5 Glocks make decent service pistols.  All you have to do is put on good sights, install a Vanek trigger housing with a tunable overtravel stop, and polish the bearing surfaces in the trigger to remove any hitches.

It shoots like a double action revolver with a 4 lb trigger.  Plus, the Gen 5s are laser beams with Atlanta Arms Elite ammo.

Here’s a typical 5-rd group at 25 yards (sandbags).

It feels like a spongy-but-short revolver trigger.  Keep the trigger rolling while looking at the front sight. This is a typical rapid fire target.

It’s not as forgiving to shoot as a 1911, but I’m struggling to think of a more convenient and capable sub-$1,000 (in 2024 dollars) Service Pistol setup.
