Regulation Target Height, and Free Pistol ??
Apparently there isn't one for 'Bullseye'. I found nothing in either the NRA or CMP rule books, other than target sizes.
So I made up a dry fire target in the garage scaling the spec's for air pistol, 33' vs 19', 55" high.
While searching I found a calculator for compensating target height for alternate distance to keep the same shoulder angle. Hadn't thought about that. And checking numbers in the rule book ...
Do they really shoot Free Pistol on a target 30" (.75M) (+- 20") off the ground? That's the same height for rifle, so using the same frames I suppose. Or do they typically raise them to the max for the pistol matches?

The height is listed in the NRA range manual. It's $55, so hopefully someone one has a copy.
I kinda think it's 54"-58" parallel with the shooting platform.

There were couple threads on the same topic here on BE Forum. Apparently the answer is 55", and it comes from ISSF rules book. Here is referenced post -

You can do simple math yourselfmsmith44 wrote:Where did you find that calculator? E-(E-T)/D*DD
E - Eye level
T - Known target height (e.g 1.4 m for air pistol)
D - Known target distance (e.g 10m for AP)
DD - Desired distance
Reverse calculation shows that B6 target height is "optimized" for eye level of 5'1"=> total shooter height ~ 5'6"

I cannot find the NRA data, but ISSF 50m is 75cm, and, AFAIR, NRA had it for 50m and 50yd too
