I've not had experience with 22 revolvers. But, owning an MR38 makes me want a matching MR22. The MR38 is incredibly accurate, the MR22 should be better.

I prefer the Korth trigger (a factory work of art) and the Manurhin MR extended rear sights.
The Colt OMM seems to be the most accurate American 38 special revolver (don't know about 22).
A S&W worked over by a premium revolver smith can have a fantastic trigger.
Out of the box I'd take the Korth. The trigger mechanism is the easiest to adjust to your liking. The rest need a gunsmith.

I don't know about what John said, but having owned a Korth Ratzeburg 22, I can say that it was a beautifully finished from an outside, but very meh internals with a pretty crap trigger. I judge revolver triggers by DA, they are most great in SA. Having said that I think Manurhin is a beauty and function that is built to last. SW are awesome for the price and the trigger can be worked to perfection with minimum effort. Colt does nothing for me. Never tried Rugers. Freedom Arms also make amazing product and some of the tightest tolerances around. It's all about how do you define finest. Luxury at a premium? Form and function? At a decent price point? If you want all of the above I vote Manurhin hands down every day. I would vote Freedom Arms as well, but single action loading is not for everyone. Plus the premium you pay for Manurhin is becausr it is unkillable.

Btw Manurhin trigger can be adjusted for hammer and return springs separately via easy twists of the screws.

Recent Manurhins have DA stage then another long roll until they break. They need to break immediately after staging trigger. I’d shoot a S&W before shooting a Manurhin that wasn’t worked over. The Korth has adjustable stage.

If I may make a suggestion - I wouldn't spend money on those expensive European guns (although they are very sexy, can't argue with that), but get a good old K-22 and send it to Jon Shue (or send it to me if you're feeling adventurous ))
With good ammo it will shoot Xs all day long and the trigger will be very nice.
Or you can do it yourself actually, it's not very difficult. Wolff sells rebound springs kit for S&W, find one that gives you 2lb pull (probably 13 or 14 pounds spring), and the chances are you won't need to stone the sear, just polish the internals slightly, remove any burrs, replace the mainspring with the light one form Wolff and you got yourself a new shiny toy

I have a S&W model 17-4 that was worked over by Bob Chow back in the mid 1980's and it has a very nice trigger both single and double action. Shoots lights out and I have put 10's of thousands of rounds through it and it is still fun to shoot. Would love to have some of the other .22 revolvers but I don't know if they would be better.

S&W 17, Dan Wesson 22, are both very good. Freedom Arms are the most accurate I ever shot. Great trigger, sights, everything; there is nothing to do with them other than adjust the sights.

I don’t have experience with anything outside of Colt and S&W. Having said that I prefer the S&W. From the hand I shoot them better than the Colt. I have a S&W Model 17-3 that I use as a trainer for my S&W Model 14-3. I save on primers doing this. I usually shoot a couple of boxes of .38 prior to a match. Most my revolver training is done on the model 17-3. All of these options are fine shooters from what I know and what I hear. But for me.. I’m a S&W man.
