Flaring an Ejection Port
I am going to get my ejection port lowered and maybe flared. Does flaring the ejection port help with ejection or only help to keep the brass from getting dented when shooting full power loads? Does flaring do anything for light BE loads? Thanks in advance.

Flaring isn’t necessary. It does not help with ejection.

What Jon said. The extractor and ejector must be correctly adjusted on a 1911 for trouble free ejection. Flaring an ejection port might keep minor dents from appearing in your brass but the cases are re-loadable. I have both ejection port contours on my 1911s and can't tell any difference. It's sort of like painting racing stripes on your car to make it go faster. Hope this helps.

Does that affect your gas mileage?
