Eley Practice 100
Anybody have any experience with this. I called someone yesterday about it and she asked how many pallets would I like. I know it was replaced with Target but don't know exactly how long ago. Any idea how much it sold for when it was new?

I just finished a case of it last year, but I had ordered it back in the 90's. Good stuff, reliable, accurate. As I recall it priced below yellow box Target and above the old brown box Standard. It was in a white box and labeled Practice 100.

PALLETS?!?! Sounds too good to be true! How many "pallets" do they have?

Yeah, the prospect of some new old stock getting released from some dark corner of the nation's hidden inventor is most appealing!!!
If you need to call for investors, I have a few possibilities.
Seriously.

You have to be careful buying old eley, some of it like tenex will have deteriorated wax and sometimes causes feeding issues. I would have to see some open box examples before buying.

Re: Eley Practice 100
The owner called me back with a price of $600 a case. In todays market I don't think that is unfair but more than I am willing to pay. I can buy new Target for less than that.

Re: Eley Practice 100
Yeah, even in today's market that stuff would have to be priced cheaper than new production Eley Target for me to be interested.
Then again, one LGS wanted $13/100 for CCI Mini-Mag solids last week. I passed. But that's 50 cents a box MORE than the case price for this Eley stuff.
Now if a case were $375 like Midway's pricing for new production Eley Sport, then we're talking a deal.
Can you see if the holder of this old stuff is willing to negotiate? $600 a case is priced only about $40 less than what we can backorder the better and new-production Eley Target for.

An additional thought:
Gun Tests ran lot no. HR3018 through three different rifles (including a high-end Walther) and it shot pretty lousy. Practice 100 was on their DON'T BUY list in their test several years ago.
If it's that lot number, $300 a case would be priced proportionate to the performance.
