Can I use a RIA 10mm 1911 with a Marvel conversion?
Someone I know has a like new 10mm Rock Island 1911 that wants $450 for the pistol, was wondering if this can be used with a marvel.22 conversion? Obviously I would have some trigger work done, just wasnt sure if the 10mm is all milspec. Thanks for any feedback

RIA is Rock ISLAND Arms NOT Rock RIVER Arms. Regardless, the lower could be used on which to mount your Marvel conversion.

I would check fitment. The ejector on 9mm models often (always?) interferes with the conversion slide. I'm not sure if a 10mm ejector would work or not. You could always replace the ejector with a standard 45 ejector. You don't really need to stake it in.

the orignial ejector does nothing but fill a slot when using a marvel conversion. I would just leave it out.

I used a RIA 10mm frame to build a lower for a Nelson conversion. Just leave the ejector out as it does nothing. Works great.DIDON1972 wrote:Someone I know has a like new 10mm Rock Island 1911 that wants $450 for the pistol, was wondering if this can be used with a marvel.22 conversion? I left the ejector in, but the ejector is definitely a bit wider then a 45 ejector, I just had to file a few thousandths off the side of the firing pin block for clearance. Works great, seems to only like cci mini mags and functions 100% but cci sv only functions 75%. Just not sure if im going to damage the aluminum slide with the higher velocity. It currently has the 9# recoil spring, I switched to 10# and didn’t function correctly. can the mainspring on the frame cause this issue? Im not sure what RIA uses in their pistols.

You will Crack the slide with HV ammunition. Use #19 mainspring and drop to 8# recoil spring. As Temps drop you'll need 7# recoil spring when 2nd rd in magazine isn't fed.
