Garmin Xero
First topic message reminder :
My Christmas present arrived late this afternoon. Xero C1. After years of either heaving a full size tripod and a bag with chrono shields, wires and controller to the outdoor range, or borrowing a huge, power hungry and fragile lab radar at the indoor range this thing is a revelation. Unless you're into skinny jeans (and given the age profile of bullseye shooters I think this is unlikely ) it easily fits into your pocket, usb-c charging so it only takes a few minutes to charge, drops the data onto your phone automatically.
I trialed it on a 16 lane indoor range with only one or two empty lanes and one of them had someone shooting full auto. Just stood it on the top of the gun box and turned it on. 40 rounds of 22 (Aguila and SK). Picked up every one. No extraneous shots (which the lab radar could never do). Data on phone. Get home - export it to computer as CSV with 2 taps. So far I"m loving it.
This is the data for the SK

Now we need an entrepreneur excel expert to come up with an app or spreadsheet that you import the .csv files to keep a logbook of sorts of your shooting sessions.........

Re: Garmin Xero
The Labradar definitely has its challenges. From battery, stable setup, to sighting alignment, to name a few. One big frustration is the Labradar sensitivity to muzzle position. As far as .22LR goes, I use a small microphone plugged into the input small stereo jack port and it has made a remarkable difference.

Re: Garmin Xero
Well ... I got suckered into picking up the Garmin, I just finished playing around with it on something that is technically unsupported. I was able to capture my air pistol at 10M, once I figured out the placement, leveraged a stand attached to my shooting table with the device around 8 inches directly below the muzzle. The Xero went 10 for 10 capturing shots!
According to the output average of 513.8 fps with a std dev of 6.6.
Happy camper, I will look to get to our indoor range and play around with 22 and 45 at 50 feet.

Re: Garmin Xero
I tried mine on 22, 38spl and 45 at 10yds to 20 yds, never missed any.
Whoever dreamed this thing up is hoping for a royalty agreement about
now if he doesn't own the patent.
I showed mine to the guys at the range/gun store and they bought 2,
and one of the clerks bought one. They plan to rent one for $10/hr.

I had the same results at 50 feet!
