Zero 185gr JHP C or not to C
I’m looking to pick up zero 185 bullets for 45ACP and see there are two types
Conical R187

Non-conical R185

Besides the notch, what’s the difference?
Do the notches do something special?
Which is better for Bullseye?

Conical for bullseye. the notches are for controlled expansion in tissue. not our thing.

I'll wager that they both shoot lights out with the right load at 50 yards! Having said that, Smokin is right.

The Nosler 185 JHP was the standard. The ZERO 185 JHP-Conical closely duplicates the results of the Nosler JHP. Get the one that is known to be the better of the Zero's. CONICAL with OAL 1.200" plus or minus .005 - .010 or so. I prefer on the minus side.

The last time I bought Zero JHP's they measured about .4525" dia. I haven't been using JHP's, so I don't know how they shoot. Are the current ones being produced .4525" dia?

I think the .452 dia bullets are fine, a lot of shooters do very well with them. I am planning to load some up and try them again. Just asking if the latest production are the same .452 diameter.
