Yes. The 357 was designed to do that. Just clean the cylinder chambers after a couple of hundred rounds to prevent the longer cartridges from failing to chamber because of dirt buildup at the mouth of the shorter case. It doesn’t always happen with every type of 38 Special round, but it can with others.

It's a common thing to do. You just end up with some charred buildup at the end of the cylinder after a while which may be hard to clean and would prevent easy loading of .357 rounds.
