Hammer & Seier Lubricant
What products does everyone use on their 1911 seiers?

I go back and forth between tw25 and brownells action grease. Both work well.

Re: Hammer & Seier Lubricant
I use just a tiny dab of stuff that I got from Vladimir with my Pardini, it is some sort of a moly grease. Just a tiny bit on the tip of the toothpick and smear it onto the hammer hooks and the sear nose. I figured if it's good for the fancy European guns, it must be good for a good old 1911

Re: Hammer & Seier Lubricant
I used Moly grease on my Hammerlli 208, tried it on my 1911 and it really makes a difference on the felt trigger pull. I have also used it on the disconnect and trigger bow contact areas. and have tried TW25 on it also. just looking for what is considered to give the best results and protect the surfaces.

Soy-based bar and chain oil. If it's good enough for my chainsaws, it's good enough for my guns.

Re: Hammer & Seier Lubricant
I tend to use a grease type lubricant. Red tacky, the moly stuff recommended for 208s, tw25, ect. I think the critical part of the equation is to not let dirt and debris accumulate and potentially damage the contact surfaces.

Be aware that moly lubing the hammer-sear faces on a trigger job set up without moly can suddenly make your hardball gun NOT make 4#. Been there. Done that.
