Hello ermakevin,

I have a box of cracked cases just like those that I have collected over the years.  All were factory fresh ammo from a variety of manufacturers.  They were extremely rare occurrences and I always chalked them up to defective/weak brass.  How many failures did you have out of how many total?  were they all the same lot?

I've seen that same crack when I've loaded 38 spl cases once too many times
Usually about the time I've worn off the nickle plating

Hello ermakevin,

Two out of one hundred?  I would be moderately concerned.  Typically this is something that you "may" run across once in thousands of rounds.  Personally; if I had another, I would dump the lot.  Brass is cheap.
