Sight pusher tool
So I was wanting to move a rear sight on my 1911 LDA Para Ordance 7.45
I gives it a nudge with an automatic center punch. Nada
couple more nudges with the punch. Nuffin.
So I am thinking wonder if they make a tool to push that.
Yup, but BOY are they proud of it.
MGW makes one like this:

anyone got one of these taking up valuable room in a drawer? Would you consider selling it or Loaning for a week or so?

Re: Sight pusher tool
you can try a brass punch, or even a nylon one sometimes works, but some sights are tuff to move, we broke two aluminum drifts trying to change the front sight on a beretta 92

Dan, secure the slide in a good vise. Those sights are put in with a hydraulic ram and are installed from R to L. There shouldn't be a taper to the dovetail cut, but............it's a Para.
I use an aluminum drift to move sights after the slide is secure. If you're still having a problem give me a shout and I'll see if I can do anything else to help over the phone.

I've used a machinist's vise and 1/4" cutting tool. Put the slide and the tool in the vise- tighten to move the sight. The slide sometimes wants to twist so this technique isn't always effective.
