Model 25-2 sight options? Empty Model 25-2 sight options?

Post by Jerry Goldfarb Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:16 am

I'd like to change the sights on my 25-2. The stock rear sight has a very shallow notch, and I prefer a deeper one. Is there a simple replacement other than filing the stock one? Would an Aristocrat or Wichita rib set fit on my 6" barrel model? Thanks.

Jerry,
I really like the Millet rear sight. It is a simple replacement and works well.

Thanks. Any idea who currently sells it? Is it an easy install or do I need a gunsmith?

You can try E-Bay or throw yourself on the mercy of the list
Millet seems to have abandoned us some time ago.

Jack Weigand Combat makes a nice rear blade for the S&W rear sight..It's a bigger blade and the notch is deeper..It comes in kit form but if you send your sight to them they will assemble as well..This makes a pretty nice target sight.

I have a Smith 14 used for DR matches, and I really like the gun but the rear sight is too shallow. What can legally be done (DR matches in mind)?

Also, a Ruger MKII that shoots great but the rear sights are not up to par.
