S&W 14-4 vs 14-3 - Fair asking Price for SAO
Howdy,
Need opinions on the asking price for a single action only S&W 14-4 on Gunbroker. Minimum they will accept is $1395 (LNIB).
Same vendor is selling a brand new in box 13-3 single action only for $1595. Both these guns are really not an auction unless someone will pay more
than the above price.
Feels high to me. Seems like you can run an "auction" forever on GunBroker - is there a cost to renewing your 'auction every few weeks?
Thanks for your opinions.

In random order. There is no cost to renew on GB. Yes, it seems quite a bit high. You never asked but I don't think single action only is legal for DSR. 3.1.4 doesn't say it is not legal but the rules that the range officials get says that the pistol must be capable of single and double action. They have to conduct the match with those rules. I am sure someone else here can post the exact rule ??

Oh ok, so a 14-3 or 4 in da/sa is more advisable.
Thanks for the heads up.

Here is a nice one. There is another one starting at 549.00 on GB but with 12 days left it could go for a lot more and this one looks cleaner.

Heck we have a seller on our forum asking $700, I prefer to buy from forum members. Thanks for all your advice and information!

IMHO You are paying a chunk extra for the box and the as NIB status. You need a shooter. My recent 14-3 purchase cost me less than $600. No box but it was so nice the collectors were hovering over it waiting for me to blink.

yes a DR gun, must be capable of single and double action, so don't buy a SAO unless you want it for some other reason.

I bought a 14-3 SAO at a flee market a few years back for 225 it is most actuate gun I have, and works for CF gun after you get use to chocking, but I did not know any thing about bullseye then now i would look for 14-6 DA/SA

Perhaps you later posters hadn't noticed that this OP is no longer interested in the gun on the 1st post. Read a bit farther please, as with most forums later contributors offer up old news.
Thanks
