Brass Tumblers
I just got a Frankford tumbler and ran a batch with the cleaner sample pack
that was included and 45 case full of Dawn soap they came out great
but the next batch I used Dawn and Lemi Shine and they came out clean but dull looking
what do you all use.

Re: Brass Tumblers
If you use hot water, remember to rinse with cold water right after tumbling to stop the action of the Lemi Shine. I have a 3 gal. Bigdawgtumbler that can handle about 22lbs of brass with 20lbs of media. I use about 1-1.5 tablespoon of Lemi Shine. The only time I got dull brass was when I didn't rinse. I just drained, rinsed, refilled, ran it about another 30 minutes, and everything came out perfect. Also I deprime first.

That's a good Lemishine tip ^^
Ah, so 15ml Lemishine to 1 Gallon of water....
In the batches I've tumbled, In one batch I used 1 Tablespoon Lemishine, 2 Tablespoons Dawn, 1 Gallon brass 1.5 Gallon water, and that batch turned out a little darker--like a purple sheen on the brass. I think that is too much lemishine per batch.
My brightest batch 1 used 1 TEASPOON of Lemishine, and all the rest the same. I ran that batch for 1 hour then dumped out the dirty water. I refilled the tumbler and instead of dawn, I used 2 tablespoons of a car washing soap that had Carnauba wax in it + one teaspoon of Lemishine. Not only was that batch brighter, that brass feels smoother and goes through the expander die more easily.

Lemi Shine Im done
Tried 3 batches of brass with verying amounts of Lemi Shine
and none of them came close to shine that I got with the
Frankford cleaner that came with the tumbler
that stuff made the brass glow like new brass
for 18 bucks for 32oz it is worth it
