If so, what gun, comp and barrel are you using? I am currently shooting a Glock 35 with a comp and likle the gun but I am looking for the same caliber in a 1911 or 2011 platform. It seems comps aren't that common on 40 1911s.

To tell the truth I have NEVER seen a comp on a bullseye gun other than a 22 conversion and they are usually added to get additional weight.

.40 S&W is extremely popular with the IPSC Limited class shooters. It makes major power factor. The .40 isn't a popular BE cartridge because in the past it had to be driven fast and was LOUD with more recoil then a wad .45 generated. I haven't ever tried BE with one, but have built many for the IPSC crowd.
The only successful shooter to shoot a comp gun in BE was Ruby Fox. She shot a Bob Marvel .45 with a compensator. I was standing next to her when she shot exactly 2650 with it, and she later went on to shoot a 2660 with it.

Ruby doesn't get the glory she deserves... She won the woman's title 17 times, and is the only woman to shoot in the 2600s at Perry, that I am aware of. A great lady.

The A series model 41 in the 7 1/2 barrel came with a comp. Makes the barrel look a foot long. I still shoot mine.
