Sharkskin Grips
What is the texture of these grips like? It is like skateboard tape?

I have a set and I think I would describe it as being somewhat like a pumice stone.

It's way more positive than skateboard tape.

I bought mine based on the website and completely happy. I think you can't go wrong for the Brownell's price. IMO they feel like stippled plastic, very positive grip, I no longer have the 1911 slipping around like I did before during RF.

With the grips installed, what is the overall thickness of the grip? Is it less than 1.300" and therefore legal for CMP Service Pistol?

I didn't measure them but they are the same profile shape as factory wooden slabs--yes they are legal for service pistol.

Hi Otiso, welp, they are apply named; they feel like..........shark skin......
It's too bad that Midway USA raised the price on them. They went from $19.95 to $35.95.
For that price, you can get them from Kensight . I ordered the grips twice from Midway
at the $20 price, the last time was about 10 months ago. My son and I prefer them.

I would say they feel more like shark TEETH...my buddy just got his first set and he accidentally skunned his knuckle against one.
....is skunned a real word...spell check doesn't think so...
