Any Experience with the "New" Ultradot L/T?
According to Ultradotwest.com there is a new model of the L/T with new features such as brightness control buttons, windage and elevation detents, brightness memory, etc. Anybody have any experience with this new model? Unfortunately they didn't change the model name so it's a bit confusing.

Nobody has one of these things?? Looks a lot like a Fastfire III but has 10 brightness levels. I'm a little concerned that the Fastfire's 3 levels might not be enough adjustment. Valid concern?

I have a FastFire 3. So far, the 3 brightness levels are OK, but I'd really prefer a few more. I'm sure there is some magic number, but there really needs to be at least 5 levels. The difference between the 3 brightness levels is quite a bit. On the plus side, having the easily adjustable horizontal/vertical POI dials was a big step in the right direction, over the FF1 and FF2.

If the UltraDot has 10 brightness levels, then that is probably a real plus. The LT is advertised as a 4 MOA while the FF III is 3 MOA.
The FF III, as apparently is the new LT, was a major improvement over earlier models such as the Docter, Optima, and LT by having the clickable w/e adjustments.
The 3 levels of brightness on the FF III are satisfactory for most occasions but the dot is very small and can be difficult to see in bright sunshine.
It works very well for inside shooting as well as on cloudy days outside.
Given the design, it would be difficult to make a polarizing filter for it unless it was in the protective cover. Doing that might be dangerous if mounted on the slide of a 1911 because it could fly off.
The FF III allows the battery to be changed while the unit is mounted. The battery compartment is on top. The LT doesn't seem to specify where the battery is located. If underneath, then it is like the older generations in having to remove the sight from the gun to change the battery.

The L/T does not have to be removed from the mount to change the battery. There is a compartment on the side of the unit which slides in/out to change the battery. It also has clicks on the w/e adjustments.
