First topic message reminder :

I've seen some Springfield Armory pistols with frames stamped 'Made in Brazil'. Is the Range Officer one of them?

Love to see a 45 that would shoot a group half the size of the bullet (.452'')that's would be a feat for sure. Range Officer origin - Page 2 Icon_lol

Only the champion line of lower cost springfields were made and stamped brazil and that ended long before the ranfe officer came out.

The GI, many MIL-SPEC and some Loaded were also previous IMBEL products marked with "N" vice "NM" I believe as well.  If they met the minimum amount of work the IMBEL frame/slide would get the "NM" designation.

Here is the bottom line on the range officer IMO,  it has a quality set of a adjustable sights, most have a very good slide to frame fit. It has a barrel that is said to be national match specs. It comes with nice wood grips. The trigger is good quality but it has a MIM  sear, hammer and hammer strut im not a fan of MIM parts, the lockable mainspring is crap too. Many have reported good 50yard groups but there are reports of not good groups too. To me this is the most affordable platform to build a bullseye gun on at this time. Its much better than the turkey built, ATI or the Philippine built  rock island armory and better than many colts too I've seen lately and at prices as low as 599.00 yes I bought mine for that at a retail gun store. its the best bang for the buck that I know off no matter where its parts came from.
