weather conditions at Perry
weather report from someone at Perry:
For the past 30days we have had exceptionally wet weather. Today we had a full blown Nor’easter with lakeshore flooding and flooding at streams and rivers.
With the ground already saturated, any significant rain leads to flash flood warnings. This coming week we have 3 days predicted for more rain.
With the pistol matches starting in a little over a week, I thought it prudent to warn our guests of these conditions and advise them to pack clothing, equipment (and especially FOOTWEAR) suitable for the conditions we have been having.
I really hope that conditions improve by next week but please watch the forecasts for our area and use your own judgment when deciding what to pack. The last time we had conditions like this, we had pistol shooters sinking up to their ankles in mud and the area stores sold out of boots and rain gear!

I'm glad someone already posted this.
Get to your farm supply stores and get your muck boots. You will need them!

2013 and this was one of my best lanes. At least between the 25yd line and the targets there was 4-6" of water so your boots got washed off with each trip to score and change targets.

In 2013 I think I bought the last pair of muck boots within 20 mile radius of Perry. Didn't wash the mud off as I consider it lucky.

Phone conversation this afternoon (Sunday) w/ an old friend on Perry St in PC and she said they were then having a Nr'easter. Erie water level is at it's highest level in the last few yrs which makes drainage problematical.

Here is a graphic to show the sudden lake level increase that came with the storm that came through last week.
