Bench Dimensions Camp Perry
Folks,
One of the biggest surprises for me my first time at camp Perry was how low the benches were - anyone happen to know the dimensions on one of those 2-person benches? I want to build a replica in the back yard. Can't seem to find any actual measurements anywhere.
Thanks!

I was reading the rules a long time ago and thought it said each bench should be 4 foot wide and i got a laugh out of that because I have never shot a 2700 where they were 4 foot most seam to be 3 foot or less.

Height kind of depends on how deep the mud is.

Make yourself a perfect bench, then make another one 4 inches too short, 4 inches too narrow, 2 inches too shallow, and 2 inches off-level.

And there you have it! The perfect, to scale, Camp Perry bench.

remember to practice with both. Preferably in muck boots with mud to your ankles.

My Platoon sergeant told me to practice with someone spraying me with a garden hose, as well. He thought it a fine joke... my neighbors think I am a nutjob dry firing in the backyard with the sprinkler spraying on me!

The benches have been rotting away since the Army left them in the 1960's. I bet they used to be taller. Of course once the settle in the mud, it really is hard to tell how high they will be at the time of use.
If the NRA spent as much money on these benches as they do on Wayne's suits,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they would be AWESOME!!!

Who owned, stored, and maintained the pistol target equipment from 1968 to present day?

First, the NRA owned the equipment tell Dennis Willing’s sold it to the CMP for a dollar in 2015 ( so the story goes )
And there is a place with 4 foot shooting lanes...

What is the ceiling material on the range cover?
And how reflective is it for noise dampening?

I am not Dane, but I shoot there regularly. The ceiling is metal. Noise is not too bad as it is a high ceiling. I have not had any issue hearing commands there.Jack H wrote:Danehogle

not an issue at all. Have not personally measured it but the ceiling is at least 10-12ft.
