100 grain WC in 1911 .38 Special?
Just for the heck of it, I ordered some 100 grain DEBBWC .38s from Penn Bullets to try in the 1911 .38 Special.
Just wondering if anyone has tried these? What loads? Accuracy? Lighter recoil?
Winter doldrums project...................

Might have to drop recoil spring weight some. Report back with your results.

TRIED THEM YEARS AGO FOR PPC. USED THE 3-D BRAND 100GR WC. THEY WERE A WASTE OF TIME. WOULDN'T HOLD X RING AT 25 YDS ON A B-27 TARGET. OK TO THE 15YDS STAGE , AFTER THAT THEY WERE USELESS. AT 50 YDS THEY WOULDN'T HOLD A B-27 REPLACEMENT TARGET CENTER. JP

Does anyone really need lighter recoil than 148gr HBWCs?

It's a tradeoff, less bullet weight, but, higher velocity. No free lunch. you need to be able to work the slide.
In a revolver you could go real light with 148's and WST....

Still have some... I used many at 7 and 15 yards PPC.. 7 yards is a piece of cake, clean with all Xs almost always, with even factory ammo, but 15yards can often get you.. From the holster, 12 shots in 20 seconds with a reload.. There is no room for a mistake or even a bobble....so the 100 gr. projectiles were a slight advantage in recovery and control...Never tried them in an auto...ric1911a1 wrote:Yes.Rob Kovach wrote:Does anyone really need lighter recoil than 148gr HBWCs?

Yeah, but gotta run a 1911. 2.2 BE probably won't cut it...
