Does the forward or rearward position of a red dot affect accuracy.
Will I get better groups if it in a certain position.

if the dot is in the forward or rearward position does not have anything to do with the inherent accuracy of the equipment. 

What it will do is change the balance of the pistol to a more muzzle heavy or muzzle light condition which might help your scores. 

Give it a try in various positions and see if your hold is a bit steadier.

What cranky said. It's amazing how much different the gun feels with slight weight shifts.
