Nighthawk .22 Conversion
One of our local shops has a Nighthawk .22 conversion. I believe that it is made by Bob Marvel and they want $479 for it. This is a new unit, but looks like it has been in the shop for quite a while. Are these good units and is that a good price? Are the Nelson conversions that much better?
Thanks in Advance,
Joel

Go for the Nelson, the Nelson with a standard barrel (non-threaded) and optic rib sells for $400, right now thru 2-14 there is a FB deal that will save you some money.
The service is outstanding and the Nelson conversion is very well made.

I have both Marvel 1 and a Nelson I prefer the Nelson.

Re: Nighthawk .22 Conversion
Nighthawk marketed the Bob Marvel design for a while. It is essentially the same as the Nelson. I got a Nighthawk early on. It had a barrel that bulged the case into the feed ramp a little. At Bob Marvel's suggestion, Larry Nelson exchanged the barrel for a real Nelson barrel. The new barrel works perfect. The Nighthawk slide does show a slight print of the slide stop pin that is inserted into the slide stop notch. None of my real Nelson units show that. I am using the Nighthawk with the Nelson barrel now as a primary unit. No problems at all.
I think I remember hearing the Nighthawk units had a recall or something about the slide.

For the price get a new Nelsons. I believe like stated above the nighthawk and nelson are identical. Plus nelson has a coupon code in commerical row for free mag with an order.

Re: Nighthawk .22 Conversion
I believe, and may be wrong, that the nelson has a different(match) chamber vs the Nighthawk units. Get a new Nelson for less $, Larry is great to deal with.
