Smith and Wesson 41 trigger adjustment "question"
I have a second year issue model 41. Shoots great and functions the same. I do have a question of sorts. I have attempted to adjust the trigger pull toward the lighter side but have found that if I go to the last notch or two of the trigger pull adjustment lever (ladder) the trigger return spring does not sit atop of the ladder resulting in a zero to lazy trigger return condition. I bumped into another 41 shooter tonight experiencing the same thing.
My question is, I guess.... I wonder I if there is a longer "leg" on that return spring availible? Would a new spring be any longer to help. Am I shoveling the Rocky mountains with a teaspoon?
Your thoughts and experience is welcome.

Re: Smith and Wesson 41 trigger adjustment "question"
Good question. Mine is a much more recent vintage, don't know the year but it is a UARxxxx serial number. When I tried to adjust the trigger weight I experienced the same result. From what I read, "the" answer is to turn it over to a real Bullseye gunsmith and have them do the job right. I hate shipping guns more than I dislike the trigger at present so I am making do with what the factory provided.

Mr B to answer your question there is not a longer spring that I am aware of. That adjustment is normally only in the 2-3 oz. range at the most. Chances are you need to have a smith re-work the hammer and sear to get what you're looking for.

Any recommendations on a Smith to do that work?
Clark?
Shooting bullseye with the gun so I would love to have a little bit better trigger. I pull a few shots from the current trigger.

Second that KC worked on my trigger night and day , I would not send a 41 to anyone else, Maybe Sams if I wanted to change the barrel liner but for the trigger KC is the guy no doubt. Worth every penny.orpheoet wrote:KC right above^ theres a link on his post
