Leupold optical sight mount for S&W Model 52

My new M52 came with one of these Leupold sight mounts.  I'm curious if anyone else here has any experience with them, and if so, how useful they are.

It will make the grip a little wider, but it's much lighter than it looks.  Do lots of people already use these?

You're not alone, mine & two other friends had the finish damaged under grip mounts.

Anything with acid in it attacks bluing.  Bluing is an oxide, and acids are reducing agents.  Fruit juices are terrible on bluing because the acids are effective and they are easy to get on the hands during a lunch break.

And anodizing chemistry is acidic.  So if the acid wasn't fully neutralized it might attach the blue.

Made it to the range today. Left hand column is 2.8gr WST Right side is 2.8gr BE. Didn't have a lot of time so just set up 4 targets at 25 yds. I wanted to be sure the pistol functioned perfectly with either load. Pistol ran great. All the brass made it into the catcher and went into battery dropping the slide. This time I took a picture. My best and worst target was with the Bullseye powder. But, for 40 rounds that doesn't mean a thing.
