S&W Barrel Weight for Model 52
I've been reading about the barrel weight that could be mounted on an S&W M52. Under what conditions would someone want to do this?
Apparently the original barrel weights are very hard to find. While looking around, I found a source of new parts:

If you don't have any problem holding up the additional weight, it reduces apparent recoil.

I like using the weight, I sometimes shoot my 52 during winter indoor leagues. When loaded down (ultra soft loads) it is an extremely soft shooting gun. The 52 is not very forgiving, any small error in grip or trigger seems to be greatly amplified, it really makes you pay attention to your form.
