4.2, 4.2 and 4.2 I like the K.I.S.S. principle. You might be able to work down from that but those are good starting loads.

I have been running 4.2 WST with Zero 185 LSWCHP at 25 yards with good results. I shot my best match 50 yard slow fire (96/4X) with 4.6 WST with the same bullet.

3.9 wst works great long line for the 200 and the short line for 185 lswc, 4.6 drills out the X @ 50 yards with a zero/magnus 185 fmj-hp

Re: Recommended WST Loads
WST is reverse temperature sensitive and gets faster when its colder out. Below 30 degrees it does not function well at all. Its more accurate in my opinion than Bulleseye and almost as clean as VV310.AllAces wrote:Any recommended 25 yard WST loads for the following:

I think it smells like DOA from a fire buts it is a good powder and better than many I tried including VV320 and VV310. I like VV310 but WST is better. No powder better for 38 special than WST. It is soft clean and amazingly accurate as compared to Bulls eye which is a great 38 special powder.
Below 3.9 gns it may shoot ok with a light spring but it is dirty leaving bits of unspent powder at crimp = 0.469.
Hot Weather above 60 degrees
200 gr LSWC 4.0
185 gr LSWC 4.1
185 gr HP LSWC 4.1
Cold Weather above 40 degrees F
200 gr LSWC 4.2/4.3
185 gr LSWC 4.2/4.4
185 gr HP LSWC 4.2/4.3

Re: Recommended WST Loads
Clean, not in my gun! maybe slightly better than bullseye but not even close to v 310. As with all powders the hotter the load the cleaner they burn but I'm getting one hole accuracy at 25 yds with 3.9 but its dirty. Smells like used baby diapers when fired too.rich.tullo wrote:WST is reverse temperature sensitive and gets faster when its colder out. Below 30 degrees it does not function well at all. Can you show me where you've read this information ? I've read this about 452AA but I'm yet to read this about WST till now.

WST replaced 452AA but many say the load data is different, so maybe its different in some small way.Bubba Blaster wrote:"WST is reverse temperature sensitive and gets faster when its colder out."

Re: Recommended WST Loads
All I am saying is its a great powder but more sensitive to cold than Bullseye. It is a single base powder like vv310.
I read on maybe the 1911 site that the difference is about 50FPS, not much.
Excellent Powder and I would not trade it for anything.

Re: Recommended WST Loads
3.8 grains of WST behind my hand cast H&G 68 bullet and Winchester primers. At a 25 yd indoor 1800 I shot a 893 with this load.
