N320 for 45?
First topic message reminder :
Hey guys, I've got a Les Baer Wadcutter on its way to me and I want to start making up some loads for it. I've reloaded for 9mm before but never the 45. I'll be using N320 powder as that's what I have on hand from my 9mm loads and I've got my Dillon all set up and ready for 45 now, but I've got a few questions if you guys wouldn't mind. Does anybody have any accurate recipes for bullseye shooting with VV N320 and a 200gr LSWC? Bullet wil be a 200gr LSWC from Missouri Bullet Co, their Bullseye #1 (#68 profile) Brass will be fc brass with CCI primers. Also from what I'm seeing, 1.25" oal with a .469-.470 crimp seems to be the norm with this bullet profile, does that sound about right? VV website recommends 4.7 grains as the minimum with a 200gr LSWC but their quoted 888 fps for that load seems a little hot for bullseye shooting. I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere, but if it is, I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance for your time.

Just an update...this is 3.7 grains of N310 with .4705 crimp. It's a 25 yard target shot at 50 yards off of a rolled up towel. I'm 99% certain the 2 flyers are me and not the gun lol

4.5 seems to have worked the best on the short line a little warm but it functions and holds the ten ring.Recurvist22 wrote:Hey guys, I've got a Les Baer Wadcutter on its way to me and I want to start making up some loads for it. Nice. The gun is with David Salyer right now but when it gets back I will give that a try too.
