Megalink out KTS optical in
It appears that I may be late to the news, but the Megalink targets in the CMP air gun ranges are being replaced by KTS systems.
From my shooting at the ranges, I have been very impressed by the Megalink targets. I hope that the KTS systems are up to the job. The Megalink systems will be offered in lots of 20 on a bid basis.

The KTS is what we shot a few 2700 on at Talladega, interesting change of pace.

DavidR, a question for you.
For the 2700's at Talladega that were shot on electronic targets, was the slowfire match fired as a 20 shot match? Specifically, were shooters given 20 minutes to shoot the 20 shot match or was it divided into the two 10 shot strings that we typically shoot for paper targets?

I believe the model they are selling is the 4K187 Target. Info about them can be found here:

I have sent for more detailed info. for our Junior program. If we decide to bid we won't need all 20 targets that are being sold in each lot, we would like to sell 10 to another Junior program or possibly individuals??
We won't decide to bid until the deadline of Oct. 31st, I'd say around the 27th

It was a traditional 2700, two 10 shot strings of slow fire fired in 10 minutes each, national match course and 4 strings of 5 shots timed fire and 4 strings of 5 shots rapid fire. just like any other 2700.Ghillieman wrote:DavidR, a question for you.

David,
Did all of the shots register properly? To me the two big issues with the E targets are no turning and whether or not the reliably pickup the shots.
I understand from at least one shooter that it is difficult to see the lights with a 1" ultradot on your own target but that they can be seen on adjacent targets with the non shooting eye. Since I wear a paster as a blinder on my non shooting eye, this would work for me. But in bullseye, my focus has traditionally been on MY target.
I will be shooting some leg matches there in Dec (Pistol, 22, and Rifle). I hope that they go well and that the recent problems experienced on the rifle range are resolved.

PThese targets for sale do not have red or green lights on them. they are
dedicated for slow fire such as free pistol, air pistol, and air rifle only.

Dane, I have shot on the Megalink at CMP and liked them. But I am worried about the KTS replacing them (worried without any known reason, currently). I also wonder about the performance of the KTS in a 2700 environment for Bullseye.
On the Rifle side the Alabama State F class match had to be cancelled because of system problems with the Targets earlier this month.
