Taurus and Nelson?
I have a Taurus 9mm frame available to use and I'm thinking of making it the dedicated lower for my Nelson. Not fond of Taurus personally but the question is -
Will it work? What are some issues I may find?

Re: Taurus and Nelson?
from marvel precision... I imagine same applies for Nelsons.
We do know, our Conversion Units will not fit on the models listed below:
Beretta
Glock
Browning
Bull M-5
Taurus PT92
SIGS
can always try

Doesn't necessarily apply in this instance...the PT 92 is a version of the Berreta 92 not a 1911 clone.
MIGHT work

Re: Taurus and Nelson?
Converted a .45 PT1911 to a dedicated Nelson. Works fine but would replace the springs, pins, 80-series delete plate, and for me I replaced the safety as the ambi safety was annoying. The Taurus frame seems to be a wee bit soft in the Rc department imho, and the internals especially the springs are not very good. (Drilled holes start to peen around the edges, pins start to show wear, etc.) For a .22 upper it works out to be ok though, the frame rails are long and stick out past the Nelson slide by about .1 or .2" but doesn't affect functioning. I do have marks on my sight rib, evidence that the top of a hammer hit it but since then I replaced it with a KC Battleaxe and no more issues. Cannot remember if the Taurus hammer hit it or my RO hammer did it...
