I am surprised nobody has mentioned this new book. People have talked about it over on TargetTalk. I think most of the sports performance optimizing books have value, there seems to be something for everybody in them and this one is no different. I have always thought, in shooting, that mechanical ability can take varying amounts of time but that solid mental performance can start from day one. I wish this book was available many years ago.

This book is inexpensive and concise but filled with tips. The author works with Olympic level shooters and other athletes, for the price I think the book can help most of the people here.

I have no financial interest here, just trying to help.

I'm taking my time and am about half way through it. It's a very good book. Each chapter is short, so you can take it in small bites and focus on one thing at a time. I recommend it.

Coming from you, knowing you, that's enough for me. On order and looking forward to reading it. Thanks also Robert for bringing it to the forum.

They want $25 to SHIP the book to Canada... I'll pass! But if one of you want to sell me their used copy once they are done with it, I'd gladly buy it. USPS can deliver this for $5 I'm sure.

You could check with some of the Canadian shooting vendors, they might have the book.

Read it a few weeks ago.  Very good read with nice chapter summaries.

Just finished reading this book, thanks for the tip. My favorite sections were the section about attitude being everything, and the section about confidence.

Attitude is important. To help it stay positive don't succumb to a bad shot or listen to a fellow shooter brag about the four 7's they just shot. Stay far away from it. I've been known to just walk away from a group of shooters because of the Turkey talk. Go soar with Eagles.

I thought there were many nuggets of wisdom in the book, especially considering it's only 126 pages. The key ones for me were:

Q,R,S....T

"The purpose of a record shot is to shoot your target with as deep of a shot as you can. That's it."

Considering that a WVU student, Ginny Thrasher, won the first gold medal at Rio, I ordered it. dipnet

After reading and studying this book for several weeks between matches, I shot my PR yesterday in a non-NRA 25 yard rimfire match (no turning targets, use downloaded bullseye commands): 873 37X. My previous RF best was 842 27X. The last chapter I read discussed staying in the moment and enjoying your match. My face hurts from smiling. dipnet
