Question on a Dan Wesson dovetail picatinny rail
Folks,
I know that slide or frame mounted red dots are considered a standard. I have a Sig Sauer 1911 with Novak-type dovetail rear sight. I found this sight on CZ-USA page. Does anyone know, if it will fit the Sig? If so, any views on whether or not using this sight/rail for a small red dot is a good ideal? I have a Primary Arms sight, which is a clone of the Aimpoint HD Micro and it will fit on this small rail.

Looks like it is same Novak dovetail. In my experience they ate too big or too small.....50 50 chance of drop in fit.

Thanks, Jon. I'll take the 50/50 chance, the sight is only $40.

What's it made of? It has a synthetic look. I went to site but didn't find.

Should be metal (steel?). I bought a very similar one for my CZ-75 SA and it was definitely metal. It is holding up nicely and I have a Bushnell TRS mounted on it. That's one of the reasons, I am thinking about it for my 1911.

Oleg.

They do not seem to fit nice, better off drilling the slide for a slide mount and shortening up a Marvel Rib.Jon Eulette wrote:Looks like it is same Novak dovetail. In my experience they ate too big or too small.....50 50 chance of drop in fit.
