hi people,a customer call to the armory wanting cci standard velocity(nothing available in Puerto Rico) and he explain me the problem with the pistol. he change barrel for a clark, change springs, extractor, experimenting with aguila, geco .22lr without results. this pistols hatefully the ammo federal(blue box). my high standard shoot aguila, geco, fiocchi,Blazer(in ocassions, others bad). this problem,is the pistol,a maldition or what. in my opinion, the 41 is a grest pistol, but the problems with ammo is the mega last option to bought, except a found  a good deal for a used one(300.00). i want your opinions about this situation, experiences, thanks!

A S&W 41 should cycle CCI Std Vel with few if any problems.  If the gun is having problems extracting brass, clean the chamber thoroughly and try to determine if there is any erosion at the front of the chamber.

Bullseye shooters in my neck of the woods find CCI SV, Aquila SE, or Federal Auto Match to work with Clark barrels. One SW41 will only run on Auto Match. Use a .25 caliber brush straight into the chamber or put a 90 degree bend in a .25 cal. rifle brush for a quick chamber cleaning without disassembly of the 41. Norma TAC 22 will run in the barrel but won't produce the better results as CCI. Factory uses CCI SV to test 41s coming off the line. Factory recoil spring is 7.5 lbs. Wolff Springs carries extras and anything from 6 lb up.

I have a Clark 6 1/2" barrel, a S&W 7 3/8", and a S&W 5 1/2", the pistol has a Volquartzen extractor. CCI SV and Eley Club run flawlessly with all. I do clean the chambers every 500 or so.
