Mod 41 and a rail dilemma
I have recently bought a used Mod 41. It has no rail but there are two sets of drilled/tapped holes. Is that typical? I do wish to put a dot sight on it but cant find a rail for the life of me. I would need to be a picatinny type as those are the dots I am looking at.
I do not as yet have the 41 in my possession (it was an on line auction and yet to arrive at my FFL dealer.) so I cant give spacing measurements.
If I have to go with a weaver rail and file out a few slots I will. But it just seem so dang odd that there are no commercial picatinny rails for the 41.

Weigand Combat Handguns, Inc. Weig- A- Tinny for S&W Model 41.
Have this base on my long and short barrel. This is a picatinny style base.

The EGW rail that I tried required the removal of the rear sight. It had a slightly different part number 40700

A $7 rail on a $1200 pistol just seems wrong
I personally bought this one for mine.

If it works don’t fight it....the Weaver works just fine.
I agree you will look much cooler on the line shooting a $65+ Ten Ring Precision mount on that pistol.

Re: Mod 41 and a rail dilemma
Here you go. The perfect solution. You get to pay more for your #62 so you feel right and you get a "few" extra parts. #62 near bottom left.
