Vendors at Camp Perry 2017
Does anyone know what vendors will be at Camp Perry for 2017?
Will most be there for CMP and then stay a week for NRA Pistol?
I expect many of the rifle companies will skip Perry or have a downsized appearance.

I know that the CMP rifle matches are supposedly a much bigger deal than NRA high power.Kermit Workman wrote:Does anyone know what vendors will be at Camp Perry for 2017?

I also know that many of the vendors aren't moving back and forth lock stock and barrel to and from Perry every year.
Chances are good that many of the vendors will be there for NRA pistol. Is there something specific you are looking for?
Im a bit confused by what you define as a "rifle company". Since almost all of the retailers that are there during pistol phase are general purpose reloading shooting businesses or speciality manufacturers of pistol stuff, if the rifle companies are staying away, I am not sure I would notice it.

Too early to tell, some have already announced that they will not be attending Perry at all. This schedule has made it very difficult to support the shooters.
Look at it from a vendor's perspective. Attendance numbers are at risk for both NRA & CMP matches, probably (??) more for CMP. Pistol is now spread out over 2 weeks, and CMP is on the July 4th weekend, very heavy family time (what were they thinking). I'm sure the vendor if they wanted to attend both events would have to pay for 2 weeks rent, unless OHNG cuts them a break. Then do they shut down July 3-4 and leave someone behind to keep an eye on stuff??
As you know at the same time NRA Pistol matches are being held there is the Across the Course rifle matches going on at Camp Atterbury – July 8-13,
The vendors that went to both rifle and pistol now have to be in 2 places at once, which take 2x the people to run or choose one.

On several threads it sounded like shooters were leaning to the NRA week because they could shoot Canton just before and basically attend 2 matches and still get in the EIC matches held at Canton. If you need a hard leg this is the year to go to CMP/Perry.

Normally the CMP publishes a list of vendors and the dates they'll be there. It comes out about 2 weeks before the matches start, though the dates are the rental dates for the buildings not necessarily the days they are open for business. Of course this is not a normal year. If there is a particular vendor or a particular product you want/need I would call ahead and ask them.

Inland was there last year, SA is split between pistol and rifle, Same for Rock River, Armalite.
Naturally during pistol phase, I would guess 75-80% of the things sold are pistol related. I would not expect Champions Choice to bring a lot of rifle supplies.

Well that sucks. Where else is there to check out high end equipment like Pardini and FWB. Perry is so convenient for that and bulking up on reloading supplies and ammo. This year is looking worse by the day.....sixftunda wrote:I can tell you that Larry's Guns and KC Crawford will not be at Camp Perry this year.

While I agree with the comments about vendors, timing, schedule, etc. There is one thing (well actually 3 things) that is still going to happen and that is very important to remember. And the main reason that I go, everything else is just icing on the cake.
We're going to have a regional and a couple of national matches to shoot at!
Might want to take a moment and give a little thanks for all the local, regional and national matches that are still operating.
And be sure to drop by and thank the vendors and acknowledge the commitment for those that are there this year. Goes for match directors, RO's, club members, shooters, vendors, volunteers, etc. as well.
