Welcome Brian Zins!

Please help us welcome our new Director of Training for Point Blank Range Matthews, Brian Zins!

Brian will be joining PBR Matthews this month and we wanted to let you know a bit about him. His office will be at our Matthews location but he will be teaching some classes in Mooresville as well! Please take a moment to welcome him next time you are in the range!

Born in Ohio in 5 Feb 1969,
Graduated from Canfield High School in 1988, attended Youngstown State University for two semesters studying law enforcement. Enlisted in the Marine Corps to become a Military Policeman.

Spent 20 years in the United States Marine Corps as an MP and Competitive shooter and firearms instructor. Represented the Marine in National and International competition as well as representing the United States in International Shooting events around the globe.
Has won the NRA National Pistol Championship 12 times, twice as many as anyone else. Has set over 30 NRA National Records. Won five Inter-Service Pistol Championship.

After retiring from the Marine Corps in 2008 Zins went on to become the National Manager of Pistol Programs for the NRA Competitive Shooting Division. Not quite ready to sit behind a desk he resigned his position at the NRA to become an independent security contractor providing security for American Flagged vessels traveling in areas affected by Somali pirate operations.

IN 2010 Zins was invited to be part of the cast of History Channels TOP SHOT season 2, where he out of 16 competitors he finished in second place. He later was asked to return for the TOP SHOT All Stars, Season 5, where he finished fourth.

In 2010 Zins married his best friend and soul mate Mary Jo Boomhower. Together they have 5 children, Laney, Danielle, Connor, Connor and Jacob.

Zins has been teaching marksmanship as a Marine and a civilian for the better of his adult life, having taught thousands of civilians and Marines alike in basic, advanced and competitive level pistol training and has written several articles that break down pistol fundamentals in NRA publications as well as many other on line and in print magazines.

Zins in NC?!?!!!

Can you please post more info when a Bullseye/marksmanship-related class is coming up for him? There is not any upcoming Zins class info listed on your website that I could find.
