oversized 1911 disconecter
Changing trigger in my Kimber custom 11 today. The hole in the frame is .186 & disconneter is .150
I know my Foster is smaller but did not measure it today.
My question is does anyone make one with a larger top and if so could you give the name & # so
I can order one
Thanks
Lamar H.

EGW makes a ball head disconnector. They're not supposed to be tight. Sometimes you have to stake the frame to take up some play. Depends on several factors.

Just had that issue with EGW Ball DISCO fit in on Caspian frame did not fit in another. I polished it and it still is a little snug I will polish it again after I shoot it again. It works fine but it was snug.
Does anyone else make a long disco?

Re: oversized 1911 disconecter
std spec for the disconnector length is 1.293"+0.009"..
the size of the head spec. is somewhere around .155
when I don't use the EGW piece I'll use an STI or E2 disconnector.. both are of proper length ( long side of the spec)..
EGW are designed to be fit thus the head is a bit large. nothing unusual with having to polish it down to fit..
to the OP, get an EGW and then you'll still have to peen the hole( as Jon noted) to close it a bit... Brownells sells a round punch specifically for this process.

oversized 1911 disconecter
Thanks Jon & jglenn21 for you reply. I changed the triggers in my Foster frame 45 & Marvel conversion
today both were .166 frame with .155 disco. I found the old original disconecter for the Kimber a gunsmith
replaced years ago & was a ball head that measured .165 I guess I will get a EGW. BTW I was not having
any problems with the gun just noticed while fitting new triggers (medium so as to use trigger shoe)
Thanks again.

Hay lamar;
I decided not to use the egw, you can have it $20.
the only thing I did to it was polish the ball and the paddle it came out good.

oversized disconnector
Thanks Rich
I am going to talk to my gunsmith first and get his
thoughts on this. may have to stake it as Jon suggested.
