Looking for springs Empty Looking for springs

Post by Magload 4/15/2017, 7:50 pm

I am looking for a main spring for a 52-2.  I need to bump the trigger weight up a pound.  I am not legal now.  I surfed the internet all afternoon and did find a sear spring but everyone that listed main springs were out of them.  Any ideas where I might find one?  Starting to think maybe the $2000 for the unfired  52-2 might have been the better option. While it is a different part number, the Model 39 spring may fit.

I am having the same problem locating parts to the old Model 52 and 41 pistols.

Another thought is to write to Wolff Gun Springs and see what they suggest.

Cheers,

Dave

Thanks Dave I had a idea that maybe some other model guns mainspring might work and hoped one of the gunsmiths or 52 owners would have that info.  I will get a email sent to Wolft Springs today and see if they have any ideas.  I can leave this gun at 1lb 13oz and just shoot it for fun as I am a believer that for BE 2 guns is better.  I don't mind in the least shooting my 45 for CF as 1911s are my favorite gun and 45 ACP my favorite calibrator.  A 38 that is just a hair off of cutting the X Ring would be a solid X with a 45.  Don

Going out to the shop to putz around a bit shortly.
Will look in my M52 parts bin and see.
If I remember correctly I have a couple or so new old stock mainsprings in there.

The people on this forum are great.  I am now fixed on parts for this 52-2.  BTW it is one ugly gun it is no wonder I won the bit on it but if it shoots well I don't care.  Nothing a re blue job wouldn't fix.  Don
