For the presidents match. Since cmp has opened up the rules for more pistols has anyone shot the p320 for the match and placed top 100? If so, what setup are people running for the p320? Being in the Army I'd like to shoot the match with the newest service pistol, and try to be competitive.

Also, what other new pistols have placed in the top 100? ( glock, CZ,  XDM )

320X5-9-BAS

5" competition model, Dawson Adjustable sights.

possibly.

I think the AMU had at least one XDM 5.25 place.

Sgt 1st Class Adam Sokolowski was in 6th place in the EIC match with an XDM and won an XDM
Adam also came in 4th in the Presidents 100 and I think he used the same gun.

I got to watch Adam demo at all army this year. But it was with an M9.  I didn't realise service pistol could use other pistols for the comp. The M9 trigger is hard to master. I saw in 2016 Springfield volunteered xdms. Did he shoot a stock one?

Do you think the 320X5 would be allowed with all the cut outs in the slide and what not?

Kohlby, look at a pic of the 5.25. It has cutouts and aftermarket 4# triggers.

Adam's XDM was slightly modified but not much, it was the same gun he used in the Production Class at 2016 Bianchi Cup match that he won. So modification was very limited. This year he is shooting Metallic Sights Class. CMP has made many modifications, I don't know what is or is not allowed!
Adam won the National Match (EIC) twice with the M9. AMU smiths have them shooting good.

Thanks everyone for the info. Just really trying to figure out what hardware I want to start putting together.  Shot my first bullseye match this year and got hooked. Hope to get to cmp next year. Won't be making it this year will be moving back from Italy and most likely wouldn't be very competitive haha.

I wanted to find the break point for making the 100 so I though I'd just post the pdf of the results.

reading over them gives some perspective to how continually great the great shooters are!

From a casual look, it seems the more the rules are relaxed, the lower the cutoff becomes.  Strange.

Not really. I reviewed scores going back 30 years or so and the cutoff is usually between mid 330's and high 340's. Lately it has spiked as high as 350's. Do not get it in your head that new rules have made things any easier. On any given year, most of the competitors on the line have been there many times before, and most of the top 100 have the tab already.

Regardless of how rules change, those that practice the hardest and invest the most time, generally win the matches. It is not an equipment race by any means.

***ALSO, weather conditions have a big impact on those scores. Weather can be dramatically different just between 1st and 2nd relay.
