New Shooter from Upstate NY
Annoyingly few registered matches up here, but the grouse hunting and trout fishing is terrific.
I just competed in my first BE tournament last Saturday (after which I found out was the New York State Regional Indoor Championship.) Yes, my targets were the only ones that were not difficult to score. Everyone elses were just single ragged holes in the middle. You could stick a black paster the size of a half dollar on the fired targets and reuse them!!
Great experience though. Now I need a 45 to compete in CF and 45 stages.

Take a look at the NJ Pistol website at www.njpistol.com and www.bullseyematches.com. Great sites with info on the matches.

Re: New Shooter from Upstate NY
Hello Bruce,
I am in the Corning area. I have three matches planned for this year and all are about two plus hours away; not too bad I suppose but I'd love it if my club took some interest as well. I can't complain.
How about yourself?

There are matches in Binghamton, Syracuse, Rochester...
2 Hours is about what I see for locations. 1 hour minimum
Few clubs want to run competition anywhere. People want to come in, do their thing and leave. They never improve either.
Many club members are shocked to see pisols at 50 yds; they cant believe it.
oh well
regards

There will be a summer league beginning in June and going until September in Sidney, NY. It will take place on Thursdays starting at 5 PM (outdoors if weather permitting, indoor if not). Probably a bit too far for you guys but I'll be there most weeks.

If this club ever decides to hold registered matches, let us know. It's within driving distance for a saturday for sure.
