Randall Fung Grips
I just ordered some Randall Fung match Grips for my vintage 1918 Colt 1911 Bob Chow wad gun. Paid in advance over the phone ($187 including shipping) and should have them in 8 weeks, he said. I've heard nothing but good things about these grips. Anyone else use them? If I like these I plan to get another set for my
Model 41.

I prefer Vitarbo grips. Have them on my M41 and 1911.

I have never found a pair of Vitarbo that fit me but I like Nills and Fung. Nills on everything else and Fungs on the 1911 in picture.

Len,
How do the Fungs compare with the Nils? I'm going from stock Grips to these, my first set of true target Grips.
I suppose they keep you steadier then stock, but is there a big huge difference? I got these because the Grips on the gun now are worn smooth and overdue for a change.

As you surmised. There is not a big huge difference. I had Herrett nationals on the 45 before the Fungs and I really don't feel much difference. But the Fungs look neat. I picked them up for half new price so I just had to give them a try. I did put them on my best 45 because of their feel.
Added info: I have not missed the X-ring even once since grips have been on pistol. That is another way of saying that I bought them just before my operation. 3 more weeks till I can fire a pistol.

I have a couple sets, one on my 41. They are nice, but just don't fit me like Rink grips. Mine are a medium, right hand. I would sell them, PM me if any interest.

FYI, I surveyed over 20 high masters asking: target grips or slabs for .45 and why? 90% said slabs! Those who were ok with target grips said it's not the brand, it's the willingness to file and add putty so they truly fit the shooter. That's the short version.

This set popped up 5AM this morning on an email alert from Ebay. They looked huge. I guess I have a set of model 41 grips now. If they are too small I will be disappointed.

And someone here will get a set of grips, perhaps?

Re: Randall Fung Grips
Well bad news. They fit. Those were the largest grips I have ever come across. They even had a little adjustment left. Not all bad news though. It means I have other grips to get rid of...Someday
