52-2 rail dove tail mount

I received a Model S&W-52-RR mount Friday and installed it last night.  Was glad to get the Leupold mount off the gun it was butt ugly and the scope set very high above the bore.  I can now place my nice Cherry Wood grip back on the right side of the pistol. Now for some low scope rings and I can enjoy shooting this gun again.  

Let us know how it does. Hold nice and steady? Is the only connection point between the rail and the gun the dovetail sight?

Basically yes there are 5 set screws in the rear that let you get some adjustment and then the front of the rail has a nylon screw that goes down against the slide to remove any vibration from the front of the rail.  There is only two cuts in the rail for the scope rings one fore and one aft but they fit my Matchdot II fine and I suspect they would fit most scopes.  I have other mounts that fit dovetails but this one fits the best of any I have used.  I was a nice snug fit on my gun.  It also fits model 41s.  Don

that same BME mount works fine on my wife's 52..

I did change the front screw to a nylon tipped screw so I could use medium locktite on it once adjusted. same rail fits a short barreled 41 with the older sight
