How many of you shooters
prefer a 30mm tube as opposed to a 1" tube and why ?
I am preparing to fit some new rails and rings and figured now would be the right time to try and standardize some of my stuff.

I prefer 1" tubes on my slide mounted pistols and use 30's on the 22's and wheel guns. I know I could play with the springs and get the 30's to work on the slides but have 1" might as well use them.

I use 30's. I tried one 1" but didn't like the intrusion in the top right part of the view for internals. I don't remember what make it was honestly. I was using Burris Fast Fires at the time. I like the 30's but recently have thought more about maybe the smaller view might be good to focus more tightly on the center of the target.

I prefer a 1". I think of my dot as a front sight and the tube as a rear sight. So for me the smaller the better. Let me add that I only shoot indoors at 50ft.

I shot 1" for years but switched to 30's when they became available. Wider field of view means I pick up the dot sooner in recovery in TF and RF. Or at least it feels that way.

Re: How many of you shooters
My introduction to a red dot was a Bushnell Trophy 30mm tube with four different reticle patterns. It's all I knew. When I tried a 25 I immediately noticed a difference in field of view. For me as a mostly iron sight shooter (until recently) I just prefer the bigger field of view. I did however borrow a gun for a match in the beginning of the year and it was equipped with a 25. I think I was so focused on what I was doing and the match that I didn't pick up on any disappointment or distraction with the smaller field of view. However my preference still stays with the 30. I have one slide mounted on a 45, and one on my Nelson. No distraction from internals of the tube, good field of view, easy recovery to get back on target... I just prefer them. But I've shot 25's just fine in the past.

If you prefer a large FOV check out the Aimpoint 9000SC, its still a 30mm but the internal FOV is much larger than the Ultradot 30mm offerings.

I believe I'd like one after reading on em but the price tag is not for me right now.

Thanks again fellows, as always the answers I seek are hidden in here somewhere.
The one I was looking for was about seeing the equipment inside the 1" tube. To me it is very distracting.
