Aimtech grip mount/trigger questions
I just put an Aimtech Grip mount on my 52 no dash. Didn't want to cut up this gun. Put a Matchdot II on the mount. The mount installs in place of the right hand grip panel and one screw replaces the trigger pin and a second screw replaces the mainspring pin. When I first got it together, I noticed that the trigger was affected by the trigger screw. The trigger locked up. I backed it off a turn and a half, and no problem. Went out to sight the gun in this afternoon and about halfway through 50 rounds I had a pair go off. Never had that happen before. It was not uncontrollable and did not run through a full magazine, just the two rounds. It did not happen again the rest of the way through the box. I guess it could have been me, but I don't think so. Is there any known issue with this mount having that effect? WIll give Aimtech a call first thing Monday, but thought I would throw it out here for discussion.

Don't use the trigger screw.

You may also want to be ready for disappointment if you have one with a nice finish. I know several (mine included) that ended up with blemishes from the mounting points.

Not worried about that. This gun has been heavily used since it was built in 1963. I just find the dot easier on my eyes.STEVE SAMELAK wrote:You may also want to be ready for disappointment if you have one with a nice finish. I had one on my 52-2 it was a Leupold it put the dot way to high above the bore. Using a B Square mount that fits in the rear sight dovetail cut. I really like it. Don

I still shoot a couple matches that require iron sights at 25 yards. I'm only shooting at 50 with the dot. This way, I don't have to put the sight back on and re-sight.Magload wrote:I had one on my 52-2 it was a Leupold it put the dot way to high above the bore.
