CMP Eley Standard .22lr
Has anyone shot this ammo? Good for practice only? Match quality? Is it better or worse than CCI SV? The price is very good. Thanks.

Haven't tried it yet in my pistol but shot a 100-9x prone with it Tuesday night in our smallbore league.

cmp ammo
I bought this ammo also, and have read the various comments posted here. I did pay particular attention to the shooter who shot it in his Hi Standard. When I got the ammo I decided to try it out in practice, knowing how funky Hi Standard mags are. Out of 60 rounds I had 5 failures. 2 failed to fire (good hits) and 3 failed to feed (not a good percentage of reliability) . I know responses will be to tweak the mags, but let me add that I have shot CCI almost exclusively over the past 10 to 15 years and did not experience this high a rate of failure.
I've checked the dimensions between this ammo versus Eley target and CCI sv, finding the rim thickness between the CCI, and both Eleys are different, additionally the OAL varies as much as .005 in random selection, with Eley target being more consistent with CCI.
That being said there will be responses to tweak the mags, but I have to ask why would I comprise my mags for the sake of shooting ammo that is suppose to be among the best. Quality standards come to mind here, and I believe I read on this form the ammo is made in the UK.
And if I tweak the mags and it doesn't feed CCI, what's the alternative?
Feed back welcome

Just me but if you have a round that functions on your HS stay with it..my wife's 107 functions perfectly with CCI std and I would not change after tuning the mags.

Saw some of this or at least similar in a local gunshop today. It was a 300 round box and if I remember right it was called "Eley Club". The price was reasonable but I didn't buy any.

FedEx just delivered my 5k box of CMP Eley Standard Velocity ammo. Nicely packed, and looking forward to how it does in my High Standard Victor in my Ransom Rest.

I found it "gritty" feeling, like the rounds were packed in with some sort of powder.
I ran a pile of it through a tumbler before running it in a Hammerli 215. Shoots and functions fine. Can't tell the difference between it and CCI SV, except a tad more recoil.

The wax lube it a bit different but it ran perfectly as is, in all my 22s.
Shoots very well
Need to order another case before year end as you are limited to 2 a year

I ran three lot numbers of this ammo through the Ely lot analyzer and one of them was identified as Club, the other two were not found. I have not been able to give it a fair test in my pistols yet. It did shoot good in an Anschutz sporter at 50 yds. Link to Ely Lot Analyzer

Wonder what's the point of a "Lot Number Analyzer" if it just shows, "Lot Not Found", as mine did.

Re: CMP Eley Standard .22lr
It is frustrating when a lot number is not found, but I was surprised at how much information was available when it did find a lot.
For an example try this lot number, I am pretty sure it is the number I found. 3117-30256

Great info for that lot, but my lot, 3117-30257, does not appear. Yet?
