Aguila 22LR 40 Gr Super Extra SV LRN ELEY Prime

Opinions on Agguila 22 LR 40 gr Super Extra SV LRN Eley Prime?
I have used other High Speed Agguila ammunition and have been pleased with it.

I've Ransom Rested it, and had sub-inch groups out of a Clark Ruger, a 41, and a Marvel.  Not as consistent groups as Eley, Lapua or RWS, and is quite "soft" at times, dropping one out the bottom of the group.  It is also quite soft to begin with and won't work in my 41 100% of the time unless I go to a lighter spring.

I haven't used much in the last few years, but all the stuff I got was top notch. I also have fired a lot of their "Target" and "Match Pistol". It all shot very well in the pistols I used it in. I would say the accuracy is on par with CCI SV out of many guns. As has been said, it may not function in picky pistols like the S&W 41, but it functioned fine in my Hammerli 208s and Marvel Precision 1911 conversion. Unless the quality has slipped in recent years, I'd say you are good to go.

I bought it to be be added to my "good" ammo.  My practice ammo is mostly Federal Auto Match that I use in my 2-45.

This is not high speed its Standard velocity  that's what the SV stands for, great stuff shoots well.

If you sort by rim thickness I dare anyone to find better grouping ammo at any price.

You don't have to sort Eley, the rim thickness is locked on..and  if you are exclusive to Eley, you can adjust your headspace to  compliment Eley's quality control.. Something you can't do with other brands.. and minimum headspace is just another plus in the accuracy quest..

I got some at aLGS.  9 out of 10 had a FTE in my 41.  Revolver ammo.

I've had mixed results with Aguila super extra. One lot was OK but didn't group as well as CCI Std Vel. Latest lot won't reliability cycle my Ruger Mk II and is worse in my M41.
