My Prototype range box
First topic message reminder :
Made one up out of scrap I had around the shop. Need to sand it up and get a finish on it....Hmmmmm, what to finish it in. Only made it a 2 gun but I can upgrade it to 3 gun if needed. Give me your thoughts on a finish. Part of me wanted to try that Hammered finish??
Let me know what you think of my first try
Joe

That is one fine looking pistol box. I would be afraid to load it into my Jeep as I probably would scratch it. Nice job. don

Nice job. I'm always jealous of people who have the time, skill, and tools to make a good job of woodworking projects.
I'd be forever debating which way up to put that image on the box. Make the box look good when it's closed? Or make it rightside up when the box is open to show off on the line when it's open and to distract other competitors.

Re: My Prototype range box
I appreciate the comments gents. Used it last night at rimfire league and plenty of folks really liked it. I think version 2 might be a sqosh shorter by an inch or two. I will say the spotting scope mount had that baby right where I needed it..Didnt have to break position to see thru it at all. I'm pretty happy with it and may just leave well enough alone.
Again, I appreciate the comments gents.
Dave, it's covered in Laminate. Got it at work. Like a faux stainless
BTW, second match ever and I shot a 471 in a 600...I was pretty happy and HOOKED
